Louisiana Adventure - Day 3

February 7, 2015

Today we spent the day visiting the vendors at the Farmers Market in the French quarter and getting our readings done at one of the various witchcraft shops in the area.  Along with the other religions represented here, witchcraft and voodoo are respected practices.  These practices came to New Orleans from Africa via the Caribbean from the West African tribes that were brought to North America as slaves.  Marie Laveau practiced, was very well respected, and died in New Orleans and the practices remain strong today.

In the evening we went on a riverboat cruise down the Mississippi River on the Steamboat Natchez. We enjoyed a Dixie band, dinner, and a beautiful view of the city at night.  I will have to work on my night photography - you will notice the best I got was dusk pictures.  The night shots are nothing to write home about. :-)
