Day 11 Bryce Canyon National Park

A view from the Most Beautiful Trail of Sinking Ship

"The tilted rocks of the Sinking Ship impart an impression of geologic unrest to viewers, and rightly so. These rocks are a reminder of the tectonic activity that began 15 million years ago, raising the Paunsaugunt Plateau to its present elevation and dragging sections of rock along the faults, resulting in the tilt we see today. Earthquakes in recent years remind us that Earth is constantly adjusting and that activity along those faults continues, although in relatively minor magnitudes."  NPS.gov website

Day 10 National Parks - The Most Beautiful Trail In The World

Bryce Canyon - View from the Most Beautiful Trail in the World

When I stopped at the Visitor's Center, the map claimed this to be the Most Beautiful Trail in the World.  It certainly was gorgeous.  And it's length of 3 miles should not have been a big deal for me since I do that daily.  But what I don't typically do is the 500+ feet down AND then back UP.  My legs were definitely burning when I stopped to take this shot half way back up the trail.

Day 9 National Parks - Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon is known for its "hoodoos" where erosion has shaped the rock into amazing spires, fins, and pinnacles.  The Paiute Indians, believed that the hoodoos are ancient "Legend People" who were turned to stone as punishment for bad deeds.  If you were going to be turned to stone, this is a beautiful place to be.

Hug & Kiss & Reassure us lots!  AND be sure to thank those who fought so we could celebrate our freedom today!

Veggie's Graduation

I'm ready!  I had a great time here, but I've been dreaming big dog dreams of my forever family so it's time for me to find them!

Hopefully I'll see you around Albuquerque with my new family!  Hugs & Kisses, Vegemite

Are you looking for someone to play and cuddle with?  If so, then I may be your match! My name is Vegemite and I might be small but I have a HUGE heart and personality.

After a great night’s sleep in my crate, I am so excited to see you and start the day that I shower you with kisses and crawl right into your arms.  Then after breakfast, exploring, and playing, my little forehead will wrinkle right up.  That’s how you know I’m tired and I’ll crawl right back into my crate for a morning nap.

I’m not afraid of anything!  Cats?  Gotta love those fluffy tails!  Dogs?  My foster home had a Rottweiler and we spent hours playing and sleeping together.  Toys twice my size? Ha!  I tackle them all day long!!!  Just watch me run and jump and toss those toys into the air.

Play hard, Cuddle Harder, that’s my motto!  So after playing, I love to lay in your lap or arms and just be with you after I’ve gotten all of my puppy energy out.

So are you looking for a cuddlebug, with a great personality, who loves to have fun? If so, I think we would be great pals. What do you think?!?

Vegemite

Hello!  I'm Vegemite!  I'm only checked into Shannon's B&B for the weekend.  My spay surgery was a little more involved than expected, so I just needed some R&R to recover.

Shannon had to remind me that I was supposed to be sore, I have had way to much fun.  She did take off my cone of shame when she could watch me.  That was great because I hated that thing!  And you can see my pretty face in these pictures.  I was very good about leaving my sutures alone.  ANYTHING to avoid that cone!

I got to ride like a big dog ----Ok, so we just backed the car out of the garage, but hey that's a big deal at 8 weeks of age.  I've had a great time resting & playing with Faith & Cu.

Monday afternoon I'll be ready for my forever family.  If you know someone who is looking for a cuddle bug in a small package with a big wonderful personality, let them know I'm waiting for them over at Animal Humane!

Have a great Sunday!  Hugs & Kisses, Veggie

Apollonia's Graduation

I've graduated!  I'm sure going to miss Shannon's B&B, but I've doubled my weight & I am ready for my forever family.  If you know my forever family, be sure to let them read my write up below so they know that I'm the perfect pup for them!

Are you looking for a sweet, energetic pup to have fun & enjoy life with?  Well then look no further, because I’m your gal!  My name is Apollonia & I am as smart & lovable as they come!

I’m so intelligent that I’ve learned some pretty amazing skills in the last 2 weeks with my foster family.  I’m already about 90% housebroken.  Take me out first thing in the morning, after naps, & every so often while we play & I rarely have an accident in the house.  In fact, I only had 3 accidents during my entire foster time – even choosing on my own to go outside by myself when the door was open.  How amazing is that for 8 weeks old?!?

I love to help in the garden & around the house.  It’s a great start to the day exploring the garden & then jumping into the laundry for a quick nap while we wait for current load to finish after we have chased all the dirt away with the broom.  I love to be involved in everything you are doing.  However, while this thick coat makes me look wonderfully cute, I do get hot easily.  I love to blow bubbles in a couple of inches of water in the kiddie pool & then lay in the cool air conditioning – often on the tile for extra coolness.      Oh, oh, oh –Don’t forget belly rubs!!!  Those are my FAVORITES!!!

I love my crate & I sleep all the way through the night.  If you take me out before I go to bed, I don’t have any accidents in my crate during the night.  You will often find I go nap there on my own or under a bed during the day.  I’m learning to “come”, “sit” (especially before my food is set down), & “leave it”.  A really important one as I learn what I can play with & what I can’t!  I’m great with cats & dogs – in fact I learned a lot from watching my older foster family dog.  I have experience on a leash & I do really well.  I’d really enjoy long walks, hikes or running with you.  And maybe we could have a cup of coffee on the patio at Flying Star afterwards!

I have a strong natural herding instinct & I will herd anything – toads, cats, dogs, people, you name it - I got it!  I love to learn – watch for the twist of my head as I listen to you – and if we could find a herding class that would be awesome (there are a few around town) or I bet I would even love that agility class Animal Humane is doing.  With herding, I - of course - love to chase you.  But I do something even cuter – I run in front of you and spin around to try to herd you to a different direction.  So learning together in class would be a great way to have fun together & for me to exercise & continue to learn that teeth are for toys, not ankles.

I was on my own for quite some time, so a few things still startle me, but I’m quickly outgrowing them as I learn I’m safe now.  But if I come running to you at the sound of the plane, barking dogs, or need a little reassurance as dusk comes, just know I’m still learning that you are still there for me, I’m safe, & we are in this together.

I have so many special qualities, it’s hard to list them all here….so let’s figure them out together!  If you are looking for a loyal companion to stroll through life together with & learn new things, have great fun & adventures with, well………….I’m waiting for you!

Apollonia's Last Full Day

I'm so excited & nervous at the same time. This is my last full day at Shannon's B&B.  I'm ready for my next adventure & to find my forever family.

I'm going to spend the rest of the day playing with Faith & Cu & jumping in the pool.  I'll be getting my shots & spayed on Wednesday. Shannon is getting my write up ready so that my family knows everything I'm learning.

I'm going to miss talking to you everyday.  If you know who my forever family is, send them over to Animal Humane & watch for Shannon's write up tomorrow.

Hugs & Kisses, Apollonia

Apollonia's Father's Day Weekend

                                                     Happy Father's Day Weekend!
I hope you have had as good a weekend as I have!
I walked on a leash & did really well.  I played in the pool, wrestled with Faith, chased Cu, and chased Faith all around the couch.  Even though it's been a 100 degrees here, I've stayed cool & happy all weekend long.
Enjoy my video adventures!  Hugs & Kisses, Apollonia

Day 9 for Apollonia

Lazy Friday afternoons........

It's hot here in 'ol Albuquerque.  I'm soooooo glad I'm not still outside by myself.  I get to play outside each morning, digging in the garden, chasing the toads, drinking out of the pool.

Then come noon or so, we shut up the house and take a nice long siesta.  This coat makes me a cute cotton ball, but it is HOT!

I'm getting quite comfortable exploring on my own.  Shannon often has to come find me because I've been quiet for too long.  I've claimed the guest room as my own - I just love under that bed.  I also practice being a big dog by lying under the table on the cool tile & napping on Faith's bed.

I can't wait to see what features my forever home has!  See you tomorrow.  Hugs & Kisses, Apollonia

Day 7 Apollonia

Shannon was right!  5 AM and I was raring to go!!

I ran & ran & ran all over the house.  Tumbling & stumbling.  Faith was still asleep but like they sing in that Madagascar movie - I like to move it, move it!

When Faith woke up I chased her round & round the couch.  We played tug-o-war & keep away & frisbee & everything.

She showed me how to be a Big Dog on her bed.  We got belly rubs.  We even played in the pool.  Look at me blowing bubbles!!!

Then we took naps & hung out in the cool air conditioning.  Hard to believe that a week from today I'll be back at Animal Humane getting ready for my Forever Family!

See you tomorrow!  Hugs & Kisses, Apollonia

Apollonia's 6th Day

 Its Growth Spurt Day!

I did LOTS of sleeping today.  Shannon says she's seen it in every puppy & it's a sign of me growing.  She also says I'll be FULL of energy tomorrow!

Like a sugar high.  WHEEEE!!

Here's a couple of shots of me awake today.......                  Until tomorrow, Apollonia
