Apollonia's Graduation

I've graduated!  I'm sure going to miss Shannon's B&B, but I've doubled my weight & I am ready for my forever family.  If you know my forever family, be sure to let them read my write up below so they know that I'm the perfect pup for them!

Are you looking for a sweet, energetic pup to have fun & enjoy life with?  Well then look no further, because I’m your gal!  My name is Apollonia & I am as smart & lovable as they come!

I’m so intelligent that I’ve learned some pretty amazing skills in the last 2 weeks with my foster family.  I’m already about 90% housebroken.  Take me out first thing in the morning, after naps, & every so often while we play & I rarely have an accident in the house.  In fact, I only had 3 accidents during my entire foster time – even choosing on my own to go outside by myself when the door was open.  How amazing is that for 8 weeks old?!?

I love to help in the garden & around the house.  It’s a great start to the day exploring the garden & then jumping into the laundry for a quick nap while we wait for current load to finish after we have chased all the dirt away with the broom.  I love to be involved in everything you are doing.  However, while this thick coat makes me look wonderfully cute, I do get hot easily.  I love to blow bubbles in a couple of inches of water in the kiddie pool & then lay in the cool air conditioning – often on the tile for extra coolness.      Oh, oh, oh –Don’t forget belly rubs!!!  Those are my FAVORITES!!!

I love my crate & I sleep all the way through the night.  If you take me out before I go to bed, I don’t have any accidents in my crate during the night.  You will often find I go nap there on my own or under a bed during the day.  I’m learning to “come”, “sit” (especially before my food is set down), & “leave it”.  A really important one as I learn what I can play with & what I can’t!  I’m great with cats & dogs – in fact I learned a lot from watching my older foster family dog.  I have experience on a leash & I do really well.  I’d really enjoy long walks, hikes or running with you.  And maybe we could have a cup of coffee on the patio at Flying Star afterwards!

I have a strong natural herding instinct & I will herd anything – toads, cats, dogs, people, you name it - I got it!  I love to learn – watch for the twist of my head as I listen to you – and if we could find a herding class that would be awesome (there are a few around town) or I bet I would even love that agility class Animal Humane is doing.  With herding, I - of course - love to chase you.  But I do something even cuter – I run in front of you and spin around to try to herd you to a different direction.  So learning together in class would be a great way to have fun together & for me to exercise & continue to learn that teeth are for toys, not ankles.

I was on my own for quite some time, so a few things still startle me, but I’m quickly outgrowing them as I learn I’m safe now.  But if I come running to you at the sound of the plane, barking dogs, or need a little reassurance as dusk comes, just know I’m still learning that you are still there for me, I’m safe, & we are in this together.

I have so many special qualities, it’s hard to list them all here….so let’s figure them out together!  If you are looking for a loyal companion to stroll through life together with & learn new things, have great fun & adventures with, well………….I’m waiting for you!
