Utah Adventure - Day 3...... PUPPIES!!!!

January 20, 2014

On the way to lunch today I took the long route again.  The long route is unpaved but takes you further into Angel's Canyon.  The gorge below is just a sampling of the scenery - scenery I was surprised included a river.  Those beige things in the gorge are the tops of very tall trees on a flowing river bed - not dry...it actually has water!

This hoodoo (I will learn why they call them hoodoos when I go to Zion - it is the spire looking thing) was across from my now favorite horse pasture where this guy posed for me.

The long route also takes you by Angel Rest.  Angel's Rest is a resting place for Sanctuary animals and others.  I knew about it but had no idea how extensive and large it is.  The video on the site does more justice than my pictures http://bestfriends.org/The-Sanctuary/Explore-the-Sanctuary/Angels-Rest

Mementos, memories, and notes are left for loved animals.  "Trees" hold wind chimes engraved with animal remembrances. There are areas for cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, horses...and yes, pigs.

There is a blessing at the end of each month to remember all those who have passed in the previous month.  Even though I will be doing my hiking then I will make time to attend next Thursday.  It is quite an incredible place.  With the wind chimes and the beautiful blessings, it is incredibly peaceful and heart warming.

After sharing a curry with another co-founder, Faith (who began Dog town), I went for my shift at Dog town.  You can imagine my disappointment when they said that they needed me most socializing PUPPIES!
(yes the disappointment part is sarcasm)

There were so many, I don't have all their names.  Amazingly, 22 more are being transferred from intake on Sunday (intake makes sure they are not sick that would infect other pups or have other issues that need to be addressed).  And intake is taking an additional 30 more in on Sunday. Wow!

Now, without further ado I leave you with the cutest faces on earth .....

Any blurring photos are from the pups licking the lens as they ran up to the camera...hams!

These little pups arrived from intake just today.  They were shaking when they entered the socialization room but warmed up pretty well as you can see.
